Express Advantage provides financial support and services to you in order to help you reach your financial goals including classes and one-on-one assistance. We have Community Member Service Representatives whom you can find at one of our partner agencies, classes taught by our staff or staff of our community partners, and other resources for you to find services in the community.

Good money management skills and the knowledge to navigate the financial system are critical to the success of our members. Express Advantage and many of its community based organization partners offer a variety of financial education classes that are free to members of Express.

Classes are held at Express Credit Union or at nonprofit community centers around King County. They are taught by experienced teachers who provide you the opportunity to learn at your own pace.

Classes are designed to help you get practical experience that you can use to make the most of your hard earned money. They cover different topics that will help you improve your money management skills and support your financial goals.

Depending on what you are interested in, you may be able to take a series of classes or select one or two classes that are most useful to you. Class topics currently cover:

  • How to set financial goals & control your money
  • How to manage your checking account and use the ATM
  • How to save and build a budget
  • How to establish and maintain good credit
  • How to use credit cards wisely
  • How to protect your finances and identity
  • How to use consumer loans when you make a large purchase
  • How to prepare to buy a home
  • How to maximize your tax return
